| SMT believes that education is the key to the development
of young people. We support the Co-operative Education Centre of the
Faculty of Science and Engineering of City University of Hong Kong.
Students can gain practical experience and develop their potentials
in business world through Industrial Attachment Scheme (IAS) and Co-operative
Education Scheme (CES) provided by the centre. |

One Factory – One Year – One Environmental Project Launched by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, it aims to reduce and to minimize the pollution that is affecting residents in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region. Apart from making contributions to the Education in Hong Kong, we make a wide range of philanthropic efforts through co-operation with the China Candlelight Educational Fund for those in needs on Mainland China.

| SMT has joined with the Hong Kong Electronic Industries
Association (HKEIA) in donation to reconstruction of Min Jia Fan Primary
School in Hubei and construction of teacher dormitory for the HKEIA
Yi Chong Qiao Town School in Hunan. |

| Education Subsidies are offered to poor children in
Hunan province. We hope the support can let them develop their knowledge
so that they can contribute to their own families and communities
in the future. |

With the help of ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption) of Hong
Kong, we continuously hold anti-corruption program regularly for new employees
to understand and learn the conduct of anti-corruption.

| SMT encourages employees to participate in social
services. Other than sponsorship, every year our employees join "Boundabout
Corporate Challenge", a gathering organized by outward Bound Trust
of Hong Kong for different companies to compete in games for fun
and experiential learning. Money raised is to support individuals
with financial and social difficulties and underprivileged to receive
valuable and unique outward bound trainings. |

The Scout Movement promotes development through partnership and communication.
Youth can gain leadership, team building and problem solving skills through the scout activities.

| SMT also makes donations to Scout Association. Prof
KB Chan, our Chairman and Senior Managing Director, is the District President
of Sham Shui Po East District of Hong Kong Scout Association. We believe
all scouts can be agents to help building the future of good local
and international societies through mutual understanding and cohesion.
